Artemis and her twin Apollo were a result of coupling between Zeus and the Titaness Leto. The twins were persecuted by Zeus’ jealous wife Hera. In revenge for Heras animosity Artemis and Apollo kill the serpent python who was said to belong to Hera. Artemis was responsible for the demise of women while Apollo was responsible for the demise of man.

Symbolism: The revenge of Artemis symbolizes how women treat each other. How women often feel threatened and jealous of another woman’s accomplishments. Female bullying on every level.
